Facility Explorer Field Controllers Engineering and Setup.

Optimize comfort and energy usage in a facility by unlocking the full potential of the Facility Explorer field controllers.
Participants will learn how to create their own Facility Explorer application programs using Windows-based FX Builder software. The power of the Facility Explorer controller family is in its flexibility; laboratory exercises include hot water reset, lead/lag pump operation, alarm annunciation and more! Participants will then download and commission their applications with the FX ComPro program.

Recommended Prerequisite:
Fundamental Control Strategies for HVAC Systems (#215) or a strong knowledge of HVAC systems and control strategies

• Pressure independent valves compensate for pressure variations, performing a continual balancing function to maintain system performance at varying loads.
• Precise flow control eliminates over-pumping and provides favorable energy savings.
• Equal percentage flow characteristics leads to system controllability.
• Pressure independent valves prevent energizing additional chillers by maintaining desirable Delta T.
• Constant flow performance significantly reduces actuator movement, providing less hunting and wear on the valve assembly.
• Pressure independent valves are selected based on coil flow rate and no Cv calculations are needed.
